KNOWLEDGE: STRAIGHT NO CHASER

Updated: Aug 22, 2021

“I’ve done all I know to do.” Maybe you just don’t know enough.

Therefore My people go into exile for their lack of knowledge; And their nobles are famished, And their multitude is parched with thirst. 14 Therefore Sheol has enlarged its throat and opened its mouth beyond measure; And Jerusalem’s splendor, her multitude, her noise of revelry, and the jubilant within her, descend into it.” Isaiah 5:13-14

Hosea said it like this:

“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Since you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being My priest. Since you have forgotten the Law of your God, I also will forget your children.” Hosea 4:6

The Lord says my people are destroyed because they lack and reject the knowledge that they need. This is so tragic when we have access to this knowledge which is found in the Word of God.

We cannot gain an understanding of God, His will or His kingdom without the Word of God. It is in His word that we learn how He thinks and what His plans are. We can guess and put our own spin on it, but we would be wrong.

“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” declares the Lord. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways And My thoughts than your thoughts.” Isaiah 55:8-9

God doesn’t think like us. He doesn’t act like we think He should act. Unless we get His mind and way of doing things through His word, we will continue to be frustrated when things don't go our way. It took me a long time to realize that this was the Lords party and I was lucky to be invited.

Though we won’t understand everything He does, we can witness enough of His actions to know that He can be trusted. I don't always understand what is happening in my life, but I lean heavily on what I know about the Lord. I trust Him that the outcome of any situation is going to work in my favor because He is for me. Trust and faith in anyone is built. As we spend more time in His presence and with His word, they will begin to grow. Spending time in the word of God is a necessary activity for us to do.

The more time that we spend in the bible, the more our relationship with the Holy Spirit will grow and blossom. It is His living word that changes us from the inside out into sons and daughters of God. It is His living word that keeps us at those times that we don't want to be kept.

Keep your commitment to reading/studying the bible fresh. The Master Teacher always stands ready to educate and keep you grounded.

I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe.” Ephesians 1:18-19
