Wars and Battles
Blessed be the Lord, my rock, who trains my hands for war, And my fingers for battle. Psalm 144:1
You will have 2 wars that you will fight in life and 10 major battles under each war. (You have 2 hands and 5 fingers.) Jesus said:
“‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the great and foremost commandment. 39 The second is like it, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 Upon these two commandments hang the whole Law and the Prophets.” Matthew 22: 37-40
Every sin committed is a sin that has it root and is targeted at not loving God or not loving one another.
Under each war, you will have 5 battles that you constantly fight over and over. Sometimes you win. Sometimes you lose. These battles are found in the ten commandments. The first 5 are to honor God and His delegated authority. The last 5 are to honor your fellow man.
Space doesn’t allow me to really go into each one and break them down here, but you can study this out. However, I do want to say something about the training. First, I used to think that the ten commandments were about being good. They are not. This is about waging a good warfare and not fighting as one who beats the air.
The bible tells us over and over that we are in a war. Yet many Christians walk around oblivious to this fact. Still others who realize we are in a war, have not allowed the Lord to train them for the battle. (I was one of these. The Lord showed me stomping on the enemy like I was at a frat step show, all the while the enemy kept multiplying. I was making zero progress there.)
Ask the Holy Spirit to teach you how to wage a good fight. And I must warn you that some of it will be on the job training (or in the battle training) and there will be things that you must unlearn and relearn.
